Timothy’s responsibilities and duties as Partner, Professional Standards & Assurance concern ensuring adherence to professional standards and applicable legal and regulatory requirements; formalising quality control policies and procedures so as to assist the firm in its execution of risk management; designing and implementing the firm’s quality control system; upholding quality control procedures in the firm in line with expectations from the regulator; and ensuring proper application of the firm’s quality control policies and procedures such that reports issued by the firm or engagement partners are appropriate in the circumstances. Timothy engages in the firm’s ongoing consideration and periodic evaluation of its system of quality control through firm-level review, pre-issuance and post-issuance engagement-level reviews, and technical projects on ad-hoc basis. Timothy also directs the effective use, training and maintenance of the firm-tailored CaseWare® auditing tool for managing the firm’s audit engagements.

Experience

Timothy has had extensive experience of about 18 years in assurance and advisory services, including 10 years with Big-Four accounting firm. Timothy has worked with clients from a wide range of industries, including that of public entities and not-for-profit organisations. Highlights of Timothy’s experience have included performing audits and financial reporting related engagements in public fund raising projects such as issuance of comfort letters; performing control-based and substantive audits on public entities, charities and statutory boards in accordance with relevant laws and regulations of these entities; and reviewing and analysing financial statements and disclosures in accordance with SFRS/IFRS, Singapore Companies Act and SGX Listing Manual requirements.
